MAHA Music Festival to Rock Omaha

Published: 6/18/2010

Indie music fans get ready! The 2nd annual MAHA Music Festival will be on Saturday, July 24, at Lewis & Clark Landing, 515 N. Riverfront Dr., along the Omaha riverfront.

"The idea for MAHA was first articulated in May 2000 during the final session of the Greater Omaha Chamber's Leadership Omaha Class 22," said Tre Brashear of BRASHEAR LLP, a Class 22 graduate and MAHA President this year. "However, MAHA is far bigger than any one person. As with all good projects, it was really the involvement and passion of many people throughout the community that brought MAHA to life."

This year's event will feature a mix of national and local independent music talent and will highlight several noteworthy bands, including the main stage headliner Spoon, which was recently named by Metacritic as best band of the last decade. In addition to Spoon, MAHA will feature The Faint, Superchunk and the Old 97's.

Tickets can be purchased at mahamusicfestival.com for $33 each.
