Big Omaha is Coming!

Published: 4/15/2010

Join innovators, entrepreneurs and creative minds at Big Omaha, May 13 to 15 at KANEKO, 1111 Jones St. The event is part of a plan to take Omaha to the next level by bringing together the region's best and brightest to motivate, challenge, excite and connect with one another, and in turn raise the bar on the level of work we're producing.

Primary goals of the event are to challenge and motivate attendees to follow their passion, launch new businesses, develop new ideas and truly go after what they want to do.

"Big Omaha is one part tech revival, one part technical party and one part exposure to new innovative things in the region," said Tom Chapman, director of entrepreneurship and innovation for the Greater Omaha Chamber. "This unique event provides an authentic blend of the vibrant and evolving local technology, innovation, social media and design crowds, creating opportunities for people interested in these areas to network or get motivated to start something new."

The speaker line up includes Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV, Jason Fried of 37Signals, Scott Harrsion of charity: water and Matt Mullenweg of Automattic. Big Omaha is an extension of the work done on a daily basis at Silicon Prairie News (SPN). The goal of SPN is to highlight and build the entrepreneurial and creative class within Omaha and the Midwest.

Last year, the inaugural event brought together 400-plus attendees together.
